Basic maintenance

Updates to firewall features, intrusion protection rules and security patches are retrieved automatically by your Astaro firewall via a secure service. These updates are available while you maintain your Maintenance subscription. The Astaro license itself will never expire, but you will not be able to upgrade it for new features or security patches after your Maintenance subscription expires. The updating system in Astaro is one of its key features: it is extremely easy to keep your firewall updated.

In addition, email support with a two business day turnaround is provided under this maintenance plan.

Premium maintenance

Basic maintenance as above plus 24 x 7 telephone and email support provided by Astaro USA technical team. You will be given a USA phone number and email details , and support will be available immediately 7am-6am Pacific Time (roughly 1am-12pm Australian EST, Tuesday-Saturday). Outside of these hours telephone and email support response time may be up to 4 hours.

Astaro Secure Client combines an advanced IPSec VPN client offering superior encryption and authentication with a personal firewall and an integrated dialer. It allows mobile workers, home offices, and individual PCs to communicate securely and reliably over the internet with central offices. Astaro Secure Client supports advanced encryption algorithms, strong authentication methods (including smart cards, USB tokens and biometric devices), and a choice of security and networking protocols. The personal firewall prevents hackers from taking control of the remote system and creating a "backdoor" into the organization's central network. Astaro Secure Client is fully compatible with the VPN gateway in Astaro Security Gateway Software and a wide variety of other VPN gateways. It runs on Microsoft Windows XP SP2, as well as Windows 98, Windows NT4.0 or SP5, Windows 200, and Windows ME.

Astaro Report Manager collects and correlates data related to firewalls, network activities, attacks and intrusions, VPN useage, email, viruses, and web usage by employees. Data is presented in a wide variety of easy-to-understand tables, charts and graphs that can be viewed online, printed, and emailed.
